Brandon came out of his way to help remove a raccoon who had decided to use my front door mat for nap. Brandon was very polite and professional. He removed Ralph without issue and pretty quickly.

There's a first time for everything! Somehow a snake made it's way into our office building and chose my office to hang out. I called Pro Wildlife on Sunday and explained it to the tech. They arranged the appointment to come and remove it for today @ 9am. The tech Zak Brooks arrived and got the snake out very quickly! He was friendly and professional!! Definitely recommend and we'd use them again if needed! Thank you again!

Josh came out & removed a dead cat from my engine that had been there for over six months! Absolutely no one else would do the job and other places said they couldn’t even find the animal. Josh found it and removed it with ease. I can’t thank him enough!

FAQ
Citrus County wildlife questions
What's the Citrus County phone number?
Call (844) 264-6254. Same-day appointments are often available in Citrus County.
Why does Citrus County see so much wildlife around homes?
Because so much of it is still wild. About three-quarters of the county's land is rural, with state forest, sandhills and springs close to neighborhoods.
I found an indigo snake. What do I do?
Leave it alone. FWC lists indigo snakes in the Citrus tract of the Withlacoochee State Forest, and the eastern indigo snake is a federally threatened species. It's non-venomous and shows no aggression. See snake removal.
Has rabies been found in Citrus County?
Yes, mostly in cats. The Department of Health issued alerts after a rabid stray kitten in Floral City (July 2026) and a rabid cat in Inverness (June 2025), and counted a rabid bat in 2024. Report bites and keep pets vaccinated.
Will Citrus County Animal Control remove a raccoon or opossum?
No. The Sheriff's Office says its officers don't respond to wildlife calls unless the animal is sick or injured and no FWC-approved rescue group can respond, and that nuisance wildlife must be referred to a nuisance trapper.
Which FWC office covers Citrus County?
The North Central Region office in Lake City, 386-758-0525. Nuisance alligators go to the statewide hotline, 866-FWC-GATOR.
