Common problems here
Florida's rules for wildlife at home
Whatever the county, these state rules decide how a wildlife job in Central Florida is done.
Bats wait for August
FWC's maternity season runs April 16 through Aug. 14. Outside it, one-way devices go up for at least four nights with lows forecast at 50°F or warmer.
Traps checked every day
Under FWC's nuisance wildlife rules, traps must be checked at least every 24 hours, and a native animal may be released only on the property where it was caught or on 40 or more contiguous acres in the same county with the landowner's written permission.
No feeding raccoons
FWC rule 68A-4.001 bans placing food in a way that attracts raccoons, foxes or coyotes. Pet food left on a porch counts.
Fox squirrels are off limits
FWC's squirrel guide lets property owners take eastern gray squirrels that damage a building, but not fox squirrels.
Counties split the work
Orange County Animal Services says it doesn't trap nuisance wildlife, Sumter County says it deals mostly with domestic animals, and the Citrus County Sheriff refers nuisance wildlife to a trapper. That leaves animals in the attic to private companies.

Brandon came out of his way to help remove a raccoon who had decided to use my front door mat for nap. Brandon was very polite and professional. He removed Ralph without issue and pretty quickly.

There's a first time for everything! Somehow a snake made it's way into our office building and chose my office to hang out. I called Pro Wildlife on Sunday and explained it to the tech. They arranged the appointment to come and remove it for today @ 9am. The tech Zak Brooks arrived and got the snake out very quickly! He was friendly and professional!! Definitely recommend and we'd use them again if needed! Thank you again!

Josh came out & removed a dead cat from my engine that had been there for over six months! Absolutely no one else would do the job and other places said they couldn’t even find the animal. Josh found it and removed it with ease. I can’t thank him enough!

Can I release a trapped animal somewhere else in Florida?
Only where FWC allows: on the property where it was caught, or on 40 or more contiguous acres in the same county with the landowner's written permission (FWC). Non-native animals can't be released.
Is it ever legal to seal bats out in summer?
Not without an FWC permit. Exclusion is illegal from April 16 to August 14 (FWC). See bat removal.
Will my county's animal control remove a raccoon?
Usually not. Orange County's FAQ says it doesn't trap nuisance wildlife (Orange County), and other counties say much the same. Your county's page here lists its numbers.
