Common problems here
On the edge of the preserve
The Weekiwachee Preserve runs up the coast from Hudson into Hernando County. The water district's management plan names Hudson among the communities next to it.
The preserve's southern line
The district's draft plan lists Old Dixie Highway and the town of Hudson as the preserve's southern boundary. Coastal neighborhoods sit right against protected land.
Aripeka Sandhills
The 209-acre Aripeka Sandhills tract, on Aripeka Road with a Hudson address, protects hardwood swamp and pine sandhill. It's open for hiking, birding and fishing, and hunting isn't allowed.
Rabid raccoons, 2001
In late April 2001, rabid raccoons attacked two dogs in Hudson, one of them in the Parkwood Acres neighborhood, Pasco County Animal Control told the St. Petersburg Times. Both dogs had been exposed to rabies and had to be destroyed.
Locked lids matter
Homes back right onto the preserve here. Secured garbage and pet food take away what draws raccoons and opossums from it into a yard.
Rats in Hudson
Pasco's rules, and what they mean for rats
Unincorporated Pasco works differently from a city. You choose your hauler, and the county's code limits what can pile up in a yard. See rat removal across Pasco County.
No hauler, no pickup
Pasco says you must sign up with a licensed hauler to get curbside garbage and recycling service. With a hauler, pickup is twice a week. Without one, garbage stacks up, and so do rats.
Yards aren't storage
County code bars using a yard to store junk cars, appliances or other nuisance items, and says no lot can be used as a garbage dump. Clutter like that is prime rat shelter.
Overgrown lots next door
Pasco only takes overgrowth complaints from an affected party: someone who owns or lives on land touching or surrounding the lot.
Near the water
Docks, boathouses and seawalls give rats cover close to homes. Check where lines and pipes enter outbuildings, and keep bait and fish scraps sealed.

Brandon came out of his way to help remove a raccoon who had decided to use my front door mat for nap. Brandon was very polite and professional. He removed Ralph without issue and pretty quickly.

There's a first time for everything! Somehow a snake made it's way into our office building and chose my office to hang out. I called Pro Wildlife on Sunday and explained it to the tech. They arranged the appointment to come and remove it for today @ 9am. The tech Zak Brooks arrived and got the snake out very quickly! He was friendly and professional!! Definitely recommend and we'd use them again if needed! Thank you again!

Josh came out & removed a dead cat from my engine that had been there for over six months! Absolutely no one else would do the job and other places said they couldn’t even find the animal. Josh found it and removed it with ease. I can’t thank him enough!
